purchase of rear slider window

I don't have air and want to replace my rear window in the near future. Has anyone ordered one of these with dark tint from any of our well known vendors and how did it turn out? Did you get the one with just a hand move to open or with a power switch? Would like any pics if you have them.

Thanks. Truck69

I got a tinted slider and new gasket for my dad's 70 about 2 years ago from board vendor WES. It looks great and works great. I helped the glass installer who installed every piece of new glass in the truck and it took us 10 minutes to pop the slider in. These new sliders are hard to find for some reason. My truck had the exact same one when I bought it. I prefer the look of the solid glass but with no AC it works good. Heres a pic of my fathers truck.

Hi wes. Is the tint on your windows a film or the actual tinted glass? Can you get the frame in anything but black?

A friend of mine gave me a used rear window, but the lock is broken. It's the split slider type. Can it be fixed?

Yes they can. Saw new latches in that HELP! section at the local Pep Boys. Barring that NAPA should be able to hook you up.

I like the dark tint. I love my slider!

I wouldn't recommend trying to install them with the deluxe rubber with the stainless trim. I had two shops fight with mine before I had to return the window and install the solid original piece back in.

I don't have any pics handy but I Love my Silder. I don't have Air so it is IMO the best thing you can do if you have no A/C for some releaf from the heat...

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. These windows only come in Black and the glass is tinted. It is not a film applied to the glass. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
