Found BB Super Cheyenne

But have no place to put it. So I haven't bought it yet... if I do I'll probably just turn right around and sell it on here. Wish I had pictures, but the truck has is a factory A/C big block 400 (396?) with the original TH400 tranny. It has the 400 emblem on the fender, and says BB 400 on the glove box, I dunno how to tell if it's a 396 or 402. Power steering, power disc brakes, factory spare gas tank on drivers side. Truck is in decent shape, grille and front bumper good enough for a daily driver, but not show. All body sides are dent free, but they have rust bubbling through in several places on both doors and both bed sides.

I guess the purpose of this thread is mostly to see interest in this truck. These BB 400 are getting hard to find aren't they? Since I have no more room for a project I could always buy it and throw it on eBay. Anybody looking for something like this?

asuming the engine is original, it'll be a 402. The 396 was discontinued at the end of 69 and it was replaced with the 402. (a .030 over bore on the 396 made the 402)
To make things confusing, GM called it a 400 in the trucks, and kept calling it a 396 in the muscle cars.
Is this a lwb? a 3/4 ton? If so you may be suprised how difficult it is to unload it...ask Longhornjeff.

It's a lwb, 3/4 ton. So they are hard to sell, that's what I needed to know! The guy is asking $1500 for it, I figured if the engine with ac brackets and stuff was worth that, it would justify the cost. Thanks longhorn

why so hard to sell? because of the wheel pattern? My 72 402 3/4 ton rides as well as a 1/2 ton.It will haul better, still looks the same. most of the 3/4 ton BB seemed to have much more options than the 1/2 ton trucks because they were camper style trucks most of the time.A 1/2 ton cheyenne super short bed with a BB is the most collectible. I dont think that a 3/4 ton LWB super cheyenne would be hard to get rid of as one would think.

if it was close to me, I sure would pay that pending how it drives. I don't think that's very much for a big block cheyenne super.

that IS a good price, and I think i would roll the dice on it myself given the time and money.
I agree that I'd rather have a heavier duty truck. Even thoguh I don't haul stuff often, seems I always overloaded the 1/2 ton when the time came around to haul stuff. (shoulda seen me with 2500 pounds of bricks in the back!)

It would be a good deal even if someone just wanted a complete drivetrain for another project. Not having to hunt down every little part and bracket is worth some $$ in my book. At $1500 if it runs nice it should be a good deal. Any idea what year it is?

Too bad the truck you found is in Utah, that's a great deal just for the drivetrain.
