What did you get done?

Since I am going to some friends house and won't be back till late I'll get this started now. I spent Saturday running a few service calls, then came home and hung out around the pool with my wifes brother and his family.
Sunday I went to church, then over to some friends house for another day around the pool. Very much a casual weekend.

I know Jeff and Tracy are chomping at the bit to post up what they did this weekend.

What did you get done?

Mainly looked at houses and took a contract out on this one:

Been a busy weekend. I havent done anything truck realted in about a month. Purchasing this house will put off restoring my truck about another year. But I want to get the house I want now. I hate moving and I wasnt looking to buy so soon, but this house is almost perfect. All it needs is my shop in the backyard.

I'll also have to make my beater toyota last a few years as well.

My rear conversion U-joint comes in Tuesday. I will finally get my truck back on the road again after a month. I finally decided against a 700R4 and put in a Turbo400 behind my 461, and I have been fighting getting that thing in there ever scence. I may post a couple of pictures sometime.

I went skydiving! And I also finished moving out of my apartment at IU and headed back home. Last week I finished scrapping the K20 and now have a pair of axles to swap into the K5, so I can finally do the lift and mount the 36's.

Friday had some family come in from VA, so i spent some time with them Friday night and Saturday. left about 7pm Saturday night for Midland, MI to pick up a front bumper for my buddy's '72 Firebird. ended up getting back about 5:00 this morning. slept until 10:00 then hit the swap meet. bought a set of snap guages, a balancer puller/installer, and he and i both bought a roll around engine cradle to clean my garage up a little bit. he scored 2 pairs of windows for his Firebird for $30, and bought all the weatherstripping for the car so he can protect the interior he ordered the other day when it comes in.

well not the weekend but last tuesday i put a new flexplate on my truck, also changed the fluid and filter in the transmission, also looked the numbers up on the motor i took out of my truck , and all the time i was told it was a 305 and it felt like a 305, and it is actually a 350, so now if money is ok i am going to rebuild it and try to find another shortbed 55-87, or a camaro, nova, chevelle, etc.

Nice looking house bluex. Man you can always build your truck, but getting a deal on the house you want won't wait. Go for it...

Thats the same way I feel. I wasnt looking to spend this much, but its the biggest house that I've looked at, and it has 1.4 acres too. The neighbors house is kinda close on the right, but I think I can deal with that. All in all its a good deal though. It has only been on the market for 13 days! Another one I liked was only on 9 days. Hyundai moving in here has really drove the prices up as well. All these people like me moving down here to take a job....

The only thing I have now is getting out of my apt. lease. I'm hoping they will work with me, but if they dont I'm looking at probably 1500 to break it b/c I cant give 60 days notice. I'm hoping I can work something out with them.

I spent all day taking out my old bucket seats (first pic) and put in some different ones (second pic). If any of you plan on putting Toyota seats in one of our trucks, be prepared for some work. Alot of fabricating, but it is comming along pretty good and happy with they look so far.

What was wrong with the old seats? I like having armrest personally, the new ones look good though.

Brought home a "new to me" truck. washed and cleaned it and put some miles on it. I went over it with a fine toothed comb, just to make sure I wasn't surprised by anything when I started driving it regularly. Man I have missed cruising a custom truck. I didn't realize it until I went to Slamboree last weekend and had nothing to cruise on saturday night . So I spent most of the weekend making excuses to drive somewhere

Cochino12, N2trux-Thanks you for the nice comments. Nothing really wrong with the old ones, they sit real good and are comfy, but they had a few stains that would not come out, plus the passenger side seat foam needed to be replaced. I thought about getting some good seat covers to put on, but can't find any for seats with armrest. To have these recovered and repaired I was quoted $325.00 per seat. Too much. I paid $70.00 for the new ones, just have to build seat brackets. I like the armrest too, but I am going to build another console to take their place. Thanks again guys.

Awesome looking truck, Bagged 74. That thing is sharp. Congrats on the purchase. Be proud of it.

I brought my fuel lines home, tossed them onto the back of my 89, then headed south where I spent the rest of the week welding, lol

Tommorow I plan to go look at a possible new DD of a 79 half ton with a 350 on propane and an overdrive standard transmission, then I've got a bathroom to rennovate all week. Maybe I'll get my fuel lines bent, and installed, then fire the GMC up for the first time since I broke it in early this spring

Did something really, really stupid - put new a/c system in, rebuilt compressor, accumulator, hoses, was having a friend charge the system everything was going great was reading 42 degrees out of the a/c vents and then the compressor started whinning then froze up Like an idiot I forgot to add the oil to the compressor So now I'll have to go back and put another compressor in evacuate the system and recharge-how stupid I felt, I removed the warning tag about adding oil, still kicking myself.

Also went and looked at a couple of trucks with my oldest son, he sold his f250 and is buying a real truck. We looked at a couple of k-10s and then a 78 c20 that one of our old friends have, this truck is still stock looking camper special original paint original tape design on the hood and all the reciepts. The 454 and 400 have around 6000 on the rebuild and the interior is almost perfect. the funny thing is I looked at buying this truck 20 years ago but purchased my first 77 k-5 blazer, so another friend bought this truck then sold it to another friend, so I know this truck history for the last 20 years, it will be a great deal if it comes together.

Then I finished sheet rocking my garage Sunday night and will tape it tomorrow.

Still kicking myself about the comprssor though

New tires, wheels, shocks and lift kit. 2 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear--hate it when the rear is sitting so much lower than the front.
Started on my XM radio installation but did not finish.
