1958 Frame/55 Front Clip
I have a1955 chevy ,but a bad frame. and i have a chance to get a 1958 restored frame, with reworked cab on it. My question is will my 55 front clip,fenders/core support, innr. fenders fit on the 58 chassis. or will i have a lot of modifying to do. i really like my 55 front end but if it wont work ill stay with the58 , she is going back together with a old school feel. none of this mustange front clip stuff ( who decided it was a good idea to put ford stuff on a chevy anyway) . all 50's style the whole way. If antone can help i will be very thankfull.

The 55 Chevy front end will work on a 58 frame, you just have to shave I believe 2 inches off the front of the frame and drill new holes for the bumper braclets and I also believe you have to use the 55-57 bumper brackets as they are shorter than the 58-59 brackets. I have put 55 front ends on a 58 just forget how much to cut but once you install the front end it is easy to figure out where to cut.

The core support will bolt up in the same spot.
