Bigger sway bar
Hi; Have 70 c/10 with no swaybar. I found one in the wreckers,it's about 7/8 in. OD, I bought some good after market bushings,but they 1 1/16 ID. My question is, is there a bigger bar that will fit this truck?

On 3/4 trucks there are 1 1/16th bars. On some other bigger trucks, maybe burbs too, there were 1 1/4" bars, which is what i'm looking for. You can buy them new for about 150 bucks.

Hey, Low69CST, LOVE your truck. About the 3/4 ton swaybar, do you know what years would fit my 70? What's the name of the yellow on your truck? Have 70 GTO 400R/A lV 4spd , that's not a perfect numbers car and I'm considering a yellow color for it , any ideas?

First of all, the truck on the homepage of my website isn't my truck. My truck is unfinished. I put that picture there for an example what I look for, and its a good lookin truck. If you click on the My 1969 CST link then you'll see some progress pictures of my truck. Where I started out at and where I'm at now. I also have a page about these front sway bars. I'm told any truck from 67 - 87 will work. I don't know if they have the same frame brackets our trucks use, but i'm definately told the same bar is used.

I took the sway bar out of the 79 pickup I got the front x member out of. It will mount perfectly in the holes for the front brace that is aleays bent

My crossmember is the stock 68 & I used a 76 1/2 ton model 1 1/16 dia. sway bar & purchased urethane bushings from Summit. It made a big difference as my truck had no front bar. As for the frame mounts, since I lowered mine I just attached the bar ends to the lower a-arms @ the fact drilled holes, then centered the bushing & brackets on the sway bar @ the frame rails, center punched the holes in the frame, then drilled the holes out & bolted it all together. Has worked daily now for 2+ yrs & the urethane bushings I bought are greaseable to limit the squeaks.
