Second hand on our clocks. How do you take off?

The second hand on the clock in my truck is missing and I got a doner clock but want to make sure I do not brake second hand trying to pull it off and putting on my clock. Do you just pull it out or what. Just want to be safe. Has anyone done this before? Thanks
