need help truck wont start
for the past week or 2 my truck would occasionally not want to start with out cranking it over for 10-15 seconds and turning the key on and off but this morning it wont start at all dosent even act like its trying to fire. it has an hei distrubutor.

well i think i found the problem i pulled off the cap and all the contacts were coated in carbon and when i rubbed my finger across them half of the contacts rubbed off and there are big melted spots on them. how long should a cap and rotor last this one has about 30,000 miles on it is that about how long they are good for?

I'd buy a cap with the brass terminals you should get better life!
