How much for stock buckets?
I just found some stock buckets out of an 1980 Chevy Silverado..
They are pretty much mint.. They were just recently re-foamed and re-covered.. What do you guys think they would be worth?.. The guy is asking $600 Canadian.. ?? |

I've seen the tracks go on ebay for more that $200/US if they are real pickup tracks / brackets. The foam has to be worth $200 and having a set recovered would be at least $300. You would still be getting a good deal at $600 Canadian. Are they the right color for you?

If they are really nice as you say then I think the seller is pretty close in price. But it would not hurt to offer less to see what happens. Never know.

That is not a bad deal since you can use them "as is". If you needed to rework them or dye them then it might be high. It's not a smoking deal, but it ain't bad either. Can you get the mounting brackets too? That would really add to the value of the package...

Seems to me that they should come with the mounting brackets? Any way, I guess you better ask for them as part of the deal.

OK, that make since now. Wonder if you can just cheisel them out with out cutting up the floor? Are they spot welded in? That would make it much easier to get out.

You can't buy them anywhere except from a donor truck since they don't have a part number. Jeff (Bigblock73) has a template so you can make your own....

Go find a burb that had buckets. Get them from there. They are spot welded and are not that difficult to remove.

Nope. The pieces that are welded to the floor are the same, sub to pickup. The tracks are different because the back of the front seat tracks on burbs and crew cabs have to slope down.
For the pieces he needs, he can get them from a burb with buckets.

If you can get the tabs from a Burb like Joe mentioned, you will be set, but...it'll take a little time, might take a little crime to come undone ...since the tabs are welded in around the base (not just spot welded). If you can't find a Burb with buckets, here is a 1:1 scale template.

I would tell the guy that is selling them that it sort of makes the set incomplete because the buckets seats must have them to work right, and remind him that whoever buys the cab wont need them for a bench seat or more than likely will have his own tabs if he is using buskets.
It's worth a shot anyway!
