I was wondering if any of you guys have an aftermarket under-dash AC installed? I have been lookin at the Old Air system, and was just wondering if anyone has any complaints or praise<hopefully> about it,and if you ran into any problems while installing it.

I have an Old Air system. I put it in last summer, it works well. The only problems I had was getting the crank pulley and the alt. bracket. Also plugged some holes in the fire wall and replaced door seals and window felts to keep cool air in. I got my kit fromm GMC Paul.

Just installed the old air system.....
Look in my web shots folder under AC install http://community.webshots.com/user/frazel Only have two *****es about the system itself.....the low speed fan is a litter to fast (I just balance the air between the defroster and dash vents)…… when you driving 70 mph plus it the compressors cycles a lot. One ***** on the install was the rubber grommet that covers the AC and heater line holes though the firewall. It was a ***** to get on and line up. On the plus side the system delivers tons of cold air when blower in high. Great performance drive around town and at low speed. Take the extra time a do the in dash vent install. On paper the Old air system looks like it should have more cold air capacity than the vintage air system...do to the larger evaporator and blower motor location. This will be my third summer with the old air products A/C. It was a good investment. No problems. Couldn't drive the truck without it. In Alabama the humid 90's are the norm in June - Sept.

I Have had my OLD AIR for four years, works great. Easy install. Since then I have installed two kits in friends trucks, and have one waiting to go in my project truck. The compressor brackets fit good with stock manifolds or headers. they also have larger evaporators than some other brands.

I installed a Vintage Air Sure Fit System in my truck 5 years ago and haven't had a single problem with it... very pleased.
