Frame Pictures - What is this?
This is a picture of the frame of my '72 GMC. The braket is located on the left side behind the transmission cross member. What is the purpose of this bracket?
And now a few more pictures because everybody loves pictures. Yesterday morning I had rolling chassis. And this evening it was just the frame. (That is my helper in the picture with the frame. This truck will probably be his someday.) I plan on doing some cleaning/degreasing tomorrow. There are still a few more parts to remove also. Mostly brake lines and the e-brake cable. Yep, this is the same truck in my avatar.

I say the same, stock exhaust hanger. Did your wife get mad about the mess you made in her driveway.

Hey Rick,
<----- Is that the original paint...and if not, do you know if it was originally painted liek that? I have seen an original 71 like that, but as far as i can remember, i do not recall seeing a 72. |

As far as the paint scheme. The interior came from the factory red. It appears the top was white. As far as the color stripe, I haven't decided if this scheme is original yet. I will have to take a DA to a door to find out what is hidden beneath the surface. This truck has apparently been in a front end collision. The front clip is off a '71 Chevy. One front fender was originally green, the other blue. The bed is off yet another truck. It was originally white but was also DOT yellow at one point. I suspect it belonged to a highway department truck. It has also been painted red/white twice. I have a GMC front clip from a '68 I am planning to put on it. I am considering filling the side markers for a '67 look. I like the dual headlights the GMCs sport on the front. I am considering sticking with red/white but going with red/white/red variation. Or maybe medium olive green. Mmmm.
