motor size?
i just bought an 1971 chevy c-10 pick up the owner told me he thinks it has an 305 or 327. I know that anything from 305 -350 are the same blocks. can anyone tell how to adentify the motor so i can order parts for it?

no i couldn't find te numbers although i know it is the orginal engine for the truck
i did find out from the vin numbers that the motor is a 2barrel carbed 350 i got the manifold for a 4 barrel carb to go back on it |

FYI,if it wasn`t a 350 it would have been a 307.The 305 came out later.Welcome to this site and enjoy!

FYI also...the 305 block is different then a 350 block. The bore on a 305 is much smaller and it can't be over bored to 4" to make a 350.

if its truly OE then its not a 305

My money is on the 307 - they were super common...

i know for a fact its not an 307 because the 307s have the plugs pointed toward each other and mine aren't

if the plugs point at each other. isn't that 2:02 angle plug heads?

How do you tell the difference between a 307 and a 350 besides the numbers on the block ?
I have a block in the garage, and I looked the numbers up in a book I have. The information I get is it is either one. So I need to know another way to check. |
