On my donor 1/2 ton rear, there is no filler hole. I slowly re-filled the rear end through the side mounted drain hole until the oil starting coming back out. Is that enough??? Does any one know the capacity?

believe it or not, that is the way it is done, just fill it up till it comes out the filler hole.
