50th anniversary picture request
I know this has been discussed before so please bear with me. I have looked all over in the pictures section but am unable to find some good pictures of the 68 trucks with the 50th optional paint scheme. I hope I am not posting this in the wrong section, but here goes. I have to decide what color(s) my 72 2wd blazer project is going to be. I have all the parts to switch it over to look like a 68 interior and exterior, and am considering the 50th paint scheme. Does anyone know the paint codes to get it at the paint store, as in the numbers to have to get the right color? Any help is appreciated, as well as your opinions, and thoughts on this color on a 68 "looking" blazer.

Paint code is Anniversary Gold 551 and Ivory 526. I think it is great but then again I am more than a little biased...LOL! I like ochre too...LOL!

Geez...I forgot about that! Longhornman...when we gonna get the resurrected so I can start posting the "Longhorn Quest" on there? Now that it is an internationally recognized resource for Longhorn owners and car dealerships alike, it is time to reactivate. I am sure you can get some Longhorn owners to share in both the expense and maintenance of the site. SERIOUSLY!
BTW...chevyfarmer...go for the 50th paint scheme!

I was wondering if you could tell me if mine is a 50th or not:
The buckets in mine are all gold, so maybe it isn't? |

Mike..I need to try to figure my password on that... I am going to get back to work on it here soon. Cost is not an issue, as it is free, I have been thinking of going back to Geo-cities though..I need to look into it. The main reason i left Yahoo was they were limiting the number of hits an hr I could get...but a real low price a month will solve that though.
Like I said, I need to look into it. It would kinda suck to have to drop that hit counter with it as high as it is now. |

KEWL!!!!!! One my 50th Longhorns has a cloth bench and the other has an all vinyl bench. The one with the cloth bench has option code Z62 Custom Comfort & Appearance. The one with the vinyl has option code Z84 Custom Sport Truck even though with the 50th Anniversary package they both had CST emblems. The Z62 should have had a Custom emblem like the resto package states.
Let's see a picture of those seats!

There is no bucket seat option on your glove box door, the seats don't look like '67-'68 buckets and there is no carpeting on the gas tank so it is unlikely that they are original. Here is a picture of '68 Chevy buckets.

Thanks everyone, that is exactly what I was looking for, I really appreciate it. I really like the pictures of the interiors, if anyone else has more please post them. Longhorn man, can I send the "slammed 50th" pic from your website to the photochoppers? I would like to see if they can make that into a blazer for me. Thanks again.

I've only seen buckets like in post #14 JIM PA in a 68 gmc 1 ton camper. they tilt forward for entrance to the camper area from the cab. Maybe I should try to get em!

I was under the impression that the 67 buckets tilted, and the 68 seats were fixed.

I've only had '68 buckets and they don't tilt so not sure about the '67's. I have seen some weird seats in the motorhomes that don't look like either model of Chevy seat. Jim-PA...if you like'm...keep'm. I have had to sit in too many cool and uncomfortable seats...LOL! Unless you are going for the 100 pt. restoration that is! There is a Honda/Accura wrecking yard in the area that frequently has sales on buckets...$100/pr...anything in the yard. Those are nice seats and in perfect condition if you can get used to seeing them in your truck. You can't buy a decent cover for that price!
