Met a board member today!

Met Joe (crews) today when he brought my Jimmy up. Great guy! Not many people would drive from Missori to Georgia and then Missori to Ontario (Canada) to deliver a truck for a board member. And on top of that replace the solenoid to make it start better.

Thanks Joe! Wish your first visit to Canada would have been longer!

Ron

Ps, here's a pic of us doing the "He-Man" pose in front of the Jimmy at 3:00am this morning. I'm the geek with glasses.

On our recent trip, I met VTBlazer for the first time. Also saw yellow69 and afew72's. Best part of the whole trip, besides being with my wife. (She's lookin' over my shoulder, guys, give me a break.)

Re: Met a board member today!

I met Joe at the border to bring the Jimmy thru Canada Customs, the agent looked at the truck and asked if this was the first time I saw the truck in person. When I said yeah, he chuckled a little, so of course I had to ask if that was his "one born every minute laugh" that got a good laugh out of Joe and the agent. So just so you know the customs people do have a sense of humor.

Re: Met a board member today!

Ron- Thanks for all of your help!! It was cool getting to deliver your Jimmy as well as having the opportunity to meet you in person!!

The whole crossing the border thing was a PITA, but oh well! What an adventure!!

I got in around 5am this morning so I am wiped out....

Thanks again!
Joe

Paul I hope you meant UNEVENTFUL as opposed to UNEVENTUAL!!

Unless of course you have been talkin to the Mrs. which would explain your choice of wording...

Geez, I was near Mount Forest yesterday. We should have all met up and had breakfast or something. Glad that you got your blazer home in one piece.

EDIT: I just checked the map, I was REALLY close to you, corner of Winston Churchill Blvd. and Caledon Rd. area.

I was actually driving the Dodge Dually, but I was going to take the '68 until I heard that snow was in the forecast. We will meet some day and compare notes.

You better be careful, pretty soon you will have a couple of thousand members fighting for that spare room during the carlisle events and maybe even fall Hershey. Me included!!

I was in PA this past July. I was born in Meadville on the Northwestern corner of PA and I went back for a memorial service for my brother as well as to deliver my 68 4X4 to qksilver in NC. My family and I ventured into Canada to visit Niagra Falls. It was a great trip and qksilver (Steve) and I got to meet face to face (the 68 was the second burb he bought from me) . Maybe this coming summer I'll plan another road trip and I'll try to meet as many board members as possible on the way. It is a long trip as I live in AZ, so lots of opportunities to travel and meet people along the 3500 odd miles of road between AZ and PA.

Re: Met a board member today!

Hey joe... you'll be passing through here again... you better stop this time.
Don't you have some kind of part or something that you were told to give me when we were planning on you dragging the longhorn? Hell, that was 3 years ago, and a couple jobs ago...no tellin what it was huh?
I can whip up some mean taco bell at a moment's notice, plus, if needed, I can pull strings at the shop and get you in if your rig is making funny noises. Even have a key and alarm code if it is another 3 a.m. Columbus visit.
Just remember to toss a spare that fits this truck, and have a jack.
Yeah, I'll be p!ssed if you don't stop by...at least, if you don't have a good reason.

And you are right- You and I are OVERDUE for the whole personal introduction. I will make certain that I MAKE TIME to stop and visit with you this trip.

Oh- and Paul- I will make sure to let you know ahead of time so we can get our schedules coordinated.

Hey- maybe next year I'll start a "board game" of "Where's Crews Now?" and we can see how many board memebrs I can actually get to meet.....
