spindle flip?!?!
I was talking to some guy last night & we were talking about my 2 trucks. I told him I had drop spindles & springs on my 84 & just springs on my 69 because I didnt want to have to change my 6 bolt wheels. He started in on how in the "old days" they used to flip the drum brake spindles over & swap them side to side. I told him that couldnt be done because the ball joints were different sizes & it just wont work. He SWORE it worked, so I just spaced it off & let him talk. Am I full of crap or was he?...corn

Re: spindle flip?!?!
I can see it working. That's because they used to use kingpins on a straight axle.I think the ball joints and clearance would both cause problems on the trucks. The crossmember would be about where your tie rod needs to be.I wish someone would come up with a bolt on style R&P unit for our trucks.I get the we used to thing a lot but usually if you get to talking to the person they haven't in years or they only heard that's what was being done.

Re: spindle flip?!?!
Maybe thats what he was talking about. I took it he meant on the 67-72 trucks. Too bad it wouldnt work. Id like to have the drop in the spindle & keep the 6 bolt drums. Thanks guys...corn
