Gonna recover my stock seat with a repop "scroll" seat cover. New foam, and take care of any broken springs while it's apart. No more duct tape sticking to my clothes

. I was recently listening the females in my family have conversation about seat heaters. It occurred to me that would be pretty simple, so I looked on Ebay and found some. It seems like the good ones are around $80 per side. That doesn't seem too bad. It would be kinda cool as a "stealth" luxury option that you would never really notice. Anyone have any experience with aftermarket seat heater's?

Not aftermarket but My Tahoe has them and I love em!!

My dad's truck has them and they are really nice when you get up at 4 in the morning in November to go hunting, almost to nice, hard to get out. They are also nice if you've been working all day and your back is sore, even if its hot out I've turned the heaters in the seats on and had the A/C on full blast. If your using leather seats and this will be a daily driver I would say they are a neccesity.

We have leather seats in my wifes Liberty and on cold days I think the heater would surely be nice. I like leather but seems to always be hot in the summer and clold in the winter months. (that is if you live where you "do" have seasons.)

So, I couldn't resist. I ordered the $80 ea. seat heaters, got the scroll seat cover, and dropped it all off at the upholstry shop. Turns out the seat does have 1 broken spring and needs some foam repair from where the broken spring cut into it. The upholstry guy said it's very common for the spring right at the edge on the drivers side to break.

I'm supposed to get the it back this week all redone with seat heaters installed. I already wired the truck, so it'll be plug & play when I get the seat back.

Cool...Let us know how it turns out. Where did you buy them from? I saw them in the LMC catalog for $149 for 2 11x22 sheets (enough for one side of a bench seat) Did you pay $80 for each element, or for the pair to do one side?

i usually just leave the windows open and the seats heat up just fine

Excellent idea. I think I'll try that on my next project truck!! The Super Duty has them, and I dont' believe I've turned them off in a month.

Those are good heaters. i installed them on the wifes 68 Olds 442, and I hid the buttons under the seats. Very easy to install and use!!!

Hmmmm sounds like a good upgrade, maybe someone needs to write
this up for the FAQ's section, sounds like a good option for oldies

Wow, those are cool. I might have to do the same. Do you have the stock wire harness? If so, any issues with tapping into it?

I got up this morning to my mirror thermometer reading ice (05 Yukon) and I sold my K5 last week, so my new project will have them as ice on the @ss is not pretty! Let us know how they work and if you'd recommend them to us.

I got the seat back from the upholstery shop monday morning. I had already run the wires for the seat heaters under the carpet and mounted the switches over the weekend. So all I had to do was bolt in the seat and plug in the connectors. I purposely left the truck outside all night a couple times already just so I could drive it when it's cold...hey these are comfy.

It starts to get noticeably warm within a couple minutes. I wouldn't imagine I could ask for much faster on only 12 volts. I have no complaints about them, that's for sure.

Very nice work guys. I just saw these in LMC last night and was contemplating making a purchase for my 72 Blazer. How are the heaters holding up? I think I will mount the switches in the ashtray or on the front of the seat where you less likely to see them.
