What Type of Late Model Seats?
What type of late(er) model seats are you using in your burb? What fits the easiest with the least amount of modification? The bench seats in the Burb I just bought have some nice covers on them but are pretty much shot. Any input is appreciated.

Re: What Type of Late Model Seats?
We have 98 chevy suburban seats they are very comfortable front seat that is the second seat is lacking in the foot room dept. we drilled holes and had to shim some of the brackets but the look great and are super comfortable.

Re: What Type of Late Model Seats?
I tried the seats out of the 95? and up. The front buckets looked great but as mentioned above...the middle seat was too crowded. The problem is that newer Suburbans do not have that "step up" under the middle seat and the newer middle seats are not made to either set that high or be placed in front of the step up. The interior out of any 70's 80's or early 90's will work fine though. I ended up going with a complete set from a 91 model. The later the model the better the seat design is. The front buckets in the 70's were too low, and the ones from the 80's were too tall and squared of at the top. The neat thing about these years is you are able to fold down the middle seat like it is suppose to be for hauling. With the 95? and up you cant do that. It took a little shimming but it worked great. Of course you can also get the correct upholstery for all years on the internet and it is fairly easy to install and a LOT cheaper than having a shop do it. I got the 2 fronts, middle, and rear seat upholstery for $550. It took about a day to install all of them...all you need is a knife and some hog ring pliers (if your seat foam is good).

Sorry it sounded confusing she meant all the seats are in the correct position just no foot room in the second seat due to the stepup into the back.

Re: What Type of Late Model Seats?
Thanks.....that clears things up a bit.
but, is the second seat full width (door to door..so to speak) not allowing access to the back?

Re: What Type of Late Model Seats?
I really want to stick some of the '03 leather buckets into my truck. (I think this is the 40/20/40 setup?)
I had the cloth ones in my 'o3 sierra and this was possibly the most comfortable truck seat I've ever sat in. Great for road trips. I drove from Gainesville, FL to Pittsburgh, PA (14 hrs?) without so much as a butt ache. Then drove from there to Brooklyn, then back to Atlanta with no fear. A couple of trips to west Louisiana (Lake Charles) from Atlanta and back to Gainesville, FL also. It was pie. I really like what Putter is doing using the second-row seats out of the newer Tahoes or Yukons or Suburbans or whatever though.

Re: What Type of Late Model Seats?
I am seriusly considering aftermarket bucket seats in the front and middle and an 86 third seat. I think that most buckets should be narrow enough to allow a space between them on the second row for access to the third seat. It would be at least the same width as a stock consol, maybe 10-12 inches.
If anyone has a setup like this please post some pictures. Aaron
