Re: what the ???

How's the timing? Sounds like an advance issue.

Or you have a fuel issue where it's not getting enough fuel under load.

Re: what the ???

checked the timing 4 btdc,
think it might be the cap and rotor.
I took it off and looks pretty boogered in there
will have to wait til stores open to get cap rotor and points

i just bought the truck.
plug wires are new so I ASSumed the cap and rotor were good.

Better to not assume

Re: what the ???

How are the spark plug wires? if they are old, change them. When the engine is running in neutral, there is no load on the wires, meaning it runs good, and when you rev it up, it still sounds good, then when you try to drive, the load increases and the sparks start jumping from the wires to other things instead of the spark plug.

Re: what the ???

Hi there Kpf, I recently came back on the board after about a year's absence. Welcome! My truck is torn apart but I've got a 250 in mine also and might be able to help if we can't solve it on the board. Hopefully you've figured it out by now.

Btw, nice taste in Chevy's!
