If I didn't have bad luck.... Progress Shots
Things were looking good. The truck was painted Friday and cleared late Friday evening. It sat in the booth all weekend. I got a call from the bodyshop this morning needing me to bring the grille by this afternoon so they could mount it.
Then I get a call at lunch.... It seems that the painters wife stopped by at lunch. As she was leaving, she backed into the right front fender. Oh well, I guess it was in the best possible place to have any damage done. It's like having a heart attack while being in the hospital! I have attached a couple pics. Sorry for the quality, only had my camera phone with me.

Re: If I didn't have bad luck.... Progress Shots
It's only a flesh wound,,, I've had worse...In the grand shceme of things it could have happened in a worse place at a worse time. I had a car once 2 yr total body off restoration, first time I ever drove it I stopped at a watering hole for 1 drink, had a couple and taxied home.. Next day when I went back someone had jumped on the hood scratched chipped and dented it quite nicely. Hey, it wasn't gonna be a trailer queen and wasn't gonna be perfect forever but damn the first frickin day.

well at least it happened there and they can cover the costs, unlike in a parking lot somewhere.

Krue,
When they called to tell me, they had already ordered a replacement from Goodmark. They are only two days away. The good news is the rest of the truck can be put back together while it is shipping and getting painted. Then they can put the grille and front bumper on. I figured you guys would get a kick out of it. That's why I shared with you all. You just have to laugh! Getting upset isn't going to make it any better.

At least they were honest about it and they are making good on it. Most shops would have tried to fix it without you even knowing....

Green Machine,
They are going back original. These guys are really cool and have done an excellent job on the truck. Almost all of the guys there are truck guys and have trucks that they show or are show quality. Accidents happen. It's cool. I was planning on taking the winter to install a new interior. That way it will be ready for some Spring shows and story swapping with all the folks I enjoy meeting at the shows.

Man....I think you are just stalling. No one's truck can ever REALLY be finished...and this is just another excuse!!!! (j/k)
Hope you get that thing wrapped up soon!!!!

Re: If I didn't have bad luck.... Progress Shots
The reason I take it all in stride is because this is not the first incident. Putter got a heck of a deal on a "slightly dented" tailgate that dropped and stopped when it hit the bumper mounting brackets.
I thought my driver's license had just me as an organ donor. Apparently it applies to my truck too! (LOL) Looks like my original truck is scattered over at least five trucks: Putter-tailgate, ebbhightower-bed, Krue-250 engine, Palf70Step-doors, and a buddy has the original vent windows.

Re: If I didn't have bad luck.... Progress Shots
To me it sounds like the kind of shop you want to deal with because as mentioned it sounds like they were very up front with what happened. It also sounds like you're taking it right because as you know accidents can happen to anyone. Not much consolation when you just want it to be done, but I'm sure it will be just what you want when done.
