The add read "1969 Chevy 3/4 Ton Custom 20 Pick Up Truck A/C Cab. First good offer takes this well running 350 V8 & 400 automatic transmission, straight body, great tailgate, air condition cab, good glass"
Soooooo I bought it today for $350 and it runs great. Lots of late fee's due so its going to become spare parts.

Re: Score
What a shame...another very nice old truck going to be torn to pieces..... Not sure what the old car/truck hobby has become, a place to make/save money, or save old vehicles???? to each his own, I guess.

Re: Score
Its not got to be tore to pieces as you say. It will be dismantled and the parts saved to restore other trucks. There’s $800 worth of back dues owed to DMV. If its not dismantled it will just set and go to rust.

Re: Score
Good job! Is it worth $1150? The photos aint great but it doesn't look like a beater. If it's real nice maybe you should consider forking the $800 and turning it for a little profit

Re: Score
I was eyeballing that as well since it was local. not a bad price!!! I told the guy that brought my 2wd blazer about this, as it has all of the stuff he needed to return the blazer to it former glory. Did you see the other 69 for $500 obo, about the same shape and dmv back fees....
this one has bucket seats... Last edited by John Fabris; 11-13-2005 at 12:53 AM. |

Re: Score
Selling out of state?? If I remember right from several years ago when a truck like this is bought with late fees and then taken out of state the new state did not assess fees when titled there. Some thing to think about. Sell this one to your "friends up north!!"

Re: Score
I don't see why it can't be sold out of state "free and clear" w/o the bs state fees.

Re: Score
You really need to read this post by Chickenwing in the FAQ section!! You may be able to get around having to pay DMV back fees if you are a vehicle hobbyist.

Re: Score
That is a P.O.S. law!Why should anyone but the violator be liable for fines? In Maryland you just have to sell it to get out of the fines, but the violator has to pay to put another vehicle on the road.Nobody inherits the problem. The fine stays with the violator and that way the state always gets the dough, unless they move out of state.A little drastic and unlikely.

Re: Score
Special K, the point (IMO) that you overlooked all together, your registration fees are nothing more than a road tax.
So if a vehicle is not being operated on the roads, and not causing damage to said roads, then why in the **** should you have to pay to maiontain the road in the name of that undriven vehicle? There are many laws in Cali that are borderline (if not simply outright) criminal. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 11-13-2005 at 12:14 PM. |
