Re: CB! Check this out, tell me what you think?

Good location for it. Get a good steel whip antenna and a noise cancelling microphone and you'll be in business 10-4!

Re: CB! Check this out, tell me what you think?

That's a real clean install.

I have an old 1969 Johnson model 123B rig in my truck. It puts out about 10 watts through a 2ft Wilson "silver load" fiberglass trucker antenna. It's bolted to the headache rack with an old GE spring ball mount. The only problem I have is running the cable for the antenna, I routed it under the seat and out the top of the door for right now. I used the original bracket for the radio and bolted it to the dash using the heater control screws. Looks awesome since the radio is the same age as the truck.

Re: CB! Check this out, tell me what you think?

My 1st car was an 86 f--d tarus (crap) with a cobra 25 cb and a trunk mounted antenna. All us CB boys would pull into the Sonic in Granbury tx where I used to live and let our antennas touch the roof of the awning. we could call in our orders via CB! They could hear us on our radios inside and they would make us leave!

Re: CB! Check this out, tell me what you think?

I have a CB in my Isuzu Trooper, I may well get a second bracket and power cable and a mag mount to use on the truck. Mines a Midland 48 Multi which is a multi channel UK/European AM/FM rig, antenna is a Thorobred Z27 stainless steel whip mounted off a bracket on the spare wheel, makes it look like a giant R/C car!

Re: CB! Check this out, tell me what you think?

Breaker, Breaker......Looks good!! Glad to see that I'm not the only one who wants a CB in the truck. Never wanted to mention on here, thinking it's not "PC" now-a-days. I plan on installing mine after paint work.
