What is this worth
I'm looking to buy this 1967 4x4 from a farmer in my area. It has been a fencing truck for 15 years.
It needs steering knuckles, ball joints, brakes, starter, tires, seat cover, and a good cleaning for starters. The bed is rusted through near the tailgate, one cab corner and rocker panel are rusted through, the other side is solid. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bounds...ress/my_photos He's asking $1500, but I'm thinking less than $1000. What do you think? |

I wouldn't pay more than a grand.
I like the truck, but to be completely honest. I would keep looking. I'm positive that you can find a better truck for the same or just slightly more money.

Re: What is this worth
I feel that if you get this for $1000, it would be worth it. It is an unmolested 67 4x4, only 1046 trucks made like this for 1967...

Re: What is this worth
Its worth a $1000 for sure, hard to find unmolested 4x4's like that. I bet it would bring $1500-$2500 on ebay. Nice find!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What is this worth
'67 has a closed-knuckle front axle, parts are harder to come by for those. If you are going to modify the truck any it would be worth it. It has a lot of worthwhile features (in the eyes of those on the boards).
My '69 K5 was in similar shape when I bought it for $1300, complete but ragged. At least the seats were nice on mine, everything else has needed a lot of attention. I say offer the $1000 but meet in the middle if you have to.

Re: What is this worth
maybe colorado is different (seems to be more 67-72 pickups out that way), but here in michigan, thats a pretty good looking truck at $1,500. Value is in the eye of the buyer, but I would snatch it up at that price.....my 70 k20 cost more than that....but I wanted a project and it was the perfect starting point for me.....I guess it also depends on what you are looking for.....an extra $3k will get you a truck you don't have to update/improve on at all.....or that $3k can be spent making a farm truck truely yours.....my $0.02

Re: What is this worth
In the overall scheme of things I`d say it is "worth" $1500.If it was mine,it`d be a yard ornament before I`d go under $1000.It`s really not bad.Figure,pinholes,fist-sized holes,or section gone, the part needs replacing to fix correctly. There`s a`70 4wd on Ebay now for $12,000 with the infamous quarter-sized bubble or hole(in corner of door),according to the description,on an otherwise shiney truck.Looking at the picture,I see a "dollar bill" length crack in the bondo and centavo, rupey, dime,or haypenny sizes bubbling all alone the rocker the length of a beaver pelt. It`ll take as much wampum to fix that as the truck you`re lookin`at.$1000-1500 ain`t much moola these days for a start on a resto or a close to road ready driver.Driving a`67 K/10...priceless.
BTW,what motor is in it?

Re: What is this worth
Thank you for your advice.
I am the most worried about the bed floor. It has pencil size holes all along the back by the tail-gate. I don't plan to put down oak, but will probably have to find a parts bed to replace the floor before too long. Has anyone else replaced the locking hubs on a closed nuckle d44? I'm not finding a lot of parts, as someone mentioned. The motor is a 283. The picture with the 4x4 decal is out of focus a little. I can blow it up for you, but it won't give you much more than you see. Here is the build sheet. |

Re: What is this worth
It's offered to me by a co-worker. Otherwise it's hidden out in the country. Timeline for a deal is sometime before new-year.
By the way the burb in the background already sold on e-bay. more later Justin |

Re: What is this worth
I say jump on it now, so you can start collecting the parts that you need, and depending on your holiday break, spend that time working on it.....maybe you can even get some parts for christmas! I would worry also, if he already sold the burb on ebay, who's to say he doesn't decide to kick up some christmas money and sell this one too.
p.s. I will be replacing my fully locked hubs with manual locking hubs on an D44HD shortly, I will be sure to take some pics for you to document the process. (try finding parts for that axle...its even harder!)

Re: What is this worth
Set a price with the owner. Got him down to $1000. Thanks so much for your help. I'm sure I'll need it again when I tear into the front axle.

Re: What is this worth
Do the l/o hubs need replacement or doesn`t it have l/o hubs at all?I`m sure you can locate them used with a WTB post if they can`t be found new. But` I`ll bet they are available.Keep us posted and congradulations.1000 bucks, not too shabby.

Re: What is this worth
Very cool. That's a MAN'S truck. Nothing better than a cool original ranch truck. My first was an old ranchmobile. You'll be amazed how much dirt comes out of that interior and how different it will look after some cleanup. Enjoy and welcome!
