Would this be scrap?
A friend of mine hauled this in. I think he was going to cut it up for a trailer. I might talk him out of it and build it or find a home for it. 71 with a leaf spring rear end. Other than the rockers the cab looks clean. It's fairly stripped but I could come up with the rest I'm sure. It came from Liberal KS. Would this be good metal in your territory or scrap?

Re: Would this be scrap?
Front fender is cherry. The bed is dinged up but the cab is really clean. The grouments in the cab or drain plugs or still really visible. I know you guys up North are cussing me probably. I've always liked this color.

Re: Would this be scrap?
I'm drooling over that cab, even with the cut up hole. Floor solid? Doesn't need cab supports and all that stuff?? If it isn't rusty above the windshield it is certainly NOT scrap.

Re: Would this be scrap?
Yes, please fill us in on what is going to happen. Your buddy could still use it as a trailer, and you could just take (keep or sell) the nice metal from the cab forward.

Re: Would this be scrap?
Are you kidding me ? My truck did not have rockers on it when I brought mine home. They were missing from rotting away. If You scrap that truck you are sure to have a few of us on your back. Just the Thought.

Re: Would this be scrap?
Also interested in your plans for it. If you are going to part it out what are the plans for the bed? Is the floor solid and not rusted out? I need a fairly decent box for my trailer, nothing showy or quality. My trailer floor is rusted so bad I can't haul any sand cause by the time I get home I need to go back for some more.
If you are parting out, what parts are you needing or looking for? I have some parts left from my '71 4x4 re-build. Nice 69-72 style hood, 5-lug disc brake set-up complete, driver and pass. glass, several back glass pieces, smaller odds and ends. Just north of ya' in Kansas, about 40-45 minutes.

Re: Would this be scrap?
From the looks of things, it would be crazy to scrap that truck. Around where I live you dont hardly find anytheing with rocker panels or cab corners on them. Just add motor, tranny, grille, hood, interier, paint job, and a good set of wheels, and you will have a sweet truck. If your gonna scrap something, find something where the body has rotted off of it.

Re: Would this be scrap?
It does need just a little work on one or two of the cab supports but mainly just a little mud build up. I don't know much history of the truck or if I can find out. I called my buddy and he thinks he might use the cab and doors for his 72 GMC 4wd but I told him I wanted it if he couldn't decide. He got this thing given to him he said. It was one of those "get it out of my place and its yours." We all need to find deals like that.

Re: Would this be scrap?
No kidding, my buddy fell in a good deal, it was a 73 chevy school bus already converted into a camper, it had a genarater, beds, stove, fridge, and everything, by the way an expensive generater. He asked his landlord if she wanted to sell it was her husbands, she said I will give you $300 to get it out of here, all he had to do is put heads on it, and do some work to the airbrakes, and he was driving it. Its a neat thing he always brings it to any partys thats happening in the woods, truck races, etc. Wish I could find a deal like that. All I keep ending up finding is a piece of crap with the frame rotted from under it and the owner saying its an antique.

Re: Would this be scrap?
Yeah I'd like to see some pictures like that. I like doing that to, I have scads of pictures of old cars and trucks I've seen on the roads, in the woods from the time I was in 8th grade, at car shows from the time I was nine. I've always been a big fan of old cars, and trucks.
