430?
okay i got an chance to get an bulick 430 complete with 4 bbl carb and it is in an 74 chevy guy wants 100 buxs said it ran when the truck was parked truck has been pareked for 5 years how hard do you think it will be tog et it running again?
okay second deal 1970 c-10 with brand new 350 complete truck 250 buxs been wrecked in the back end(i think i will end up getting this one) and part it out

5 years parked... pull the plugs and turn the motor over by hand, if it goes no proplem, then squirt a little motor oil in each hole and screw the sparklers back in. Dump 5 gallons of fresh hi-test gassoline in the tank, and maybe a bottle of water remover too. Toss in a battery and see if she;ll fire. Look for fuel leaks as soon as it fires up. Check the brakes before pulling out of the driveway.
Once it is home, take everything apart that you feel you need to take apart. truck #2... if it runs and is complete... JUMP on it. |

truck 2 is compelete truck 1 is just the motor the rest of the truck isn't worht anything most of the body is shot got huge holes in the frames truck 2 is an compelete but wrecked truck front end is fine i thinking about parting it out and sell whats not good for scrap and what is good and i don't need i'll sell

IIR the Buick 430's had high compression - 10.25 to 1 - at the end. The 455's had lower compression and came during the first gas crunch of the early 70's. The 430 is more desireable IMO. Follow what Andy said and go for it.
