Help! Anybody. Need input.
Well I finally finished saving up money to bag and put some rims on my truck. Very excited. However, as is always the case a 79 blazer (factory 2wd) has come up for sale nearby. What would you guys do put the money into my truck or buy the blazer?
My truck and the blazer.

Re: Help! Anybody. Need input.
That's tough. If you've got room and an actual use for two beautiful vehicles, get the Blazer. Personally, I'd have some more fun with the nice truck you already got--and save some money for later.

Re: Help! Anybody. Need input.
I could fix one up really nice and be my cruiser and make the other my daily. The problem is it going to be a LONG time since I can make one a nice cruiser. I do need a college car and my plans were originally to bag and buy a brand new 3yr warranty crate motor for the truck so it would be dead reliable. Now the blazer has a freshly rebuilt 305 in it so I don't know. I have never been this stumped in my life

I would go look at it and then you will be able to make a better decision.

Re: Help! Anybody. Need input.
If $$ is tight, I would be hesitant to want to try to support two trucks and go to school. I personally would keep the shortbed. It is a good looking truck.

Re: Help! Anybody. Need input.
Just my opinion... but you got a really good looking shortbed. I'd keep it, and put the money iunto it. I used to want a Blazer like that. That is until my wife insisted on having a Tahoe. I quickly realized that a SUV is not a truck no matter how bad you want it to be. If you got the coin already to go, make the truck solid for you till you get settled in school.

I agree, I to had to have a tahoe after my second child was born and quickly realized it wasn't a truck, ( I traded my 01 silverado Lt in on it) I ended up trading it in on a 01 T/A ws6 m6 because I hated the tahoe.I now own a 72 cheyenne and the T/A and it cost alot of money to insure both vehicles even with a clean driving record. Bottom line, if I would of kept the truck it would almost be paid for and I would have an extremely nice truck that could haul me my wife and kids and anything else I wanted to throw in it. Good luck with your decision and with school, BTW decisions get harder as life goes on. Good luck. |

Re: Help! Anybody. Need input.
If it were me, I'd buy the blaze and keep the truck the way it is for your daily. I'd tend to think that Blazers will appreciate more than trucks, so in the long run, you have a nice daily that you can still tinker with and a sweet Blazer for a Sunday driver.
I know where you are coming from. I traded a 72 GMC Super Custom in on my 81 back in 86. Because I thought that I couldn't afford both. You don't want to know how many times I've tried to find it again. The one that got away... Oh, and btw, I got $600 for the 72. Doh!
