yarg...too many directions

Ok....I just replied to a post, and its got my mind running in a couple of different directions.....so I need some advice.
I have come across a 1972 chevy blazer, no specifics yet, but the asking price seems fair at just over $2,000...says the body is "in good shape".......but there is also a 67 GMC 3/4t 2wd with a 351 and a stick shift.....all the goodies, ps, pb, I think it had a/c....have to think a bit.....but the guy wants $3,200 and doesn't seem all that willing to budge too much. The body of the GMC seems in good shape...but there is a very suspicious cab corner with rust bubbles...that appear to be coming through bondo (should have brought a magnet!).

Anyway...any thoughts....buy one over the other....or stop getting ahold of projects and focus on one thing!

You already have a truck.... can't beat pullin the top in the summer and cruizin. If the blaze is a 4x4, even more fun!

Edit: being that the blaze is a 72, it probably has lots of goodies anyway, possibly ps, pbdb etc...

Find out what blazer guy thinks good shape means... it might mean good shape for the rust belt, and acually means the body is held to the frame with rachet straps and muffler clamps.
BTW.. your threrad title... "yarg...too many directions "... ios it pirate day? Was I supposed to wear my eye patch and hoop earings today?

I've found that the biggest obstacle to getting one of my projects done is the urge to buy other trucks... oh, also time and $.

I'm partial to the blazers, in either case crawl all under and look it over real well. You can tell more about these trucks from underneath than from the outside.

I like the look of the 1967 front clip, but like has been said, you already have a pickup. Go for the blazer. 1967 does have some peculiarities that you won't run into on the 1972, and you would get disc brakes

Stick with the one project you already have. If you need to, go and get some A.D.D.S. medicine. Thats what I should have done, because now I have a 62, 2-67s, 2-69s, and a 70. I truely know what its like to have to devide my attention. JOHN

hi, i would have to go with everyone else. If you are definetly gonna buy one or the other i would have to say the blazer would be my choice of pick. The blazer will have disc brakes on it i beleive and if u like the 67 front clip better then u could always swap out the 72 front clip for a 67 should bolt right up. Im new to this site so i hope i could help!

as bad as i hate to say this ,go for the blazer and if its not what ya want go look at the 67 again

I like the GMC - because it is a GMC and a 4x4 pickup. Of course the price would keep me from considering it for to long.

The GMC is a 2wd and not a 4x4.....PO used it for nothing but "pulling stumps and fence posts out of the ground" much like my 70, I think the rear gears are 4.56's....but with the relatively low redline of that particular engine, I don't think I would ever be able to put it on the highway.

I am leaning toward the blazer.....if I buy ANOTHER vehicle that I don't need.......I have always wanted a convertible....plus this way, I can take one 4x4 to the dunes on a trailer towed by the other (when you break axles 300 miles from home...a trailer can be a beautiful thing)....so I guess what I am saying is....if I buy the blazer....does anyone know of a trailer for sale?
