Just another build thread

seeing N2Billets thread goin on has motivated me to get to work
always wanted a 67 swb.

the start I have a 67 LWB that I used to drive daily , some bastard mashed in the front end on me and I parked it and lost interest .

Until now Im hoping this to be a quick build as I not going for a show peice just a nice clean driver. Ive given myself till the end of march to do this so this week end I got started about 8 pm friday night and here what we got done this weekend.

The truck a couple years ago

the damage

Enter THE $ 100 PARTS TRUCK!

Rip tear hack bang F%&K

That was it for friday night

I dont wanna get flamed or turn this into a how to pissing match all im gonna say is saturday involved a few cutting and grinding discs and a welder.

again started about 8 pm left at 2 But we now have a SWB frame.

next weekend a disc brake front end lowering springs and some paint!

The ball is rolling

Not only did I shorten my frame but I grafted a nova clip onto a 50 plymouth last week!

Re: Just another build thread

Good Luck on your rebuild. it seems like your rebuilding the parts truck from what it looks like from the pictures. Two months is not much time to rebuild a truck, but if you work hard it is possible.

Re: Just another build thread

Im using the frame from the parts truck , as I can have the frame ready and I can set my body off the blue 67 onto the new frame with out having the truck blown all apart taking up 3x as much room

I will be cutting down the steel floor of the blue box to fit my new good mark sides. it seems like a sort ammount of time but its a challange and I work on these trucks everyday , I could pretty much build one blindfolded about now.

Re: Just another build thread

When you were driving it, it looks like it was a really nice truck! I hope it all turns out good in the end. Also, I have to give you the award for ugliest parts truck, I mean it looks straight, but that paint all over really blows my mind.

Keep on thrashing. It's looking good.

Thanks! Cool old car. Is it a 350 or a 396 car? I have a 69 SS 396 that is about the same color combo.

Re: Just another build thread

I really like them too. My Dad bought this one new, so I will never sell it. Dad sold it in 1973 and I found it and bought it back in 1991. I was 20 when I bought it.

Great story with yours also!! Keep it in the family!! I love seeing them before they are restored!!
