need clues to lay 22's

I am about to pruchase a 3 door burb, and isnt coming home till it sits on 22's
My question Is havent seen many lay body on 22's. The wheels I am looking at come in 9.5 width. I know they will fit in the rear, but will they stick past the fender in the front. for the time being it will jut be a 5/7 drop but in the near future I am going to body drop and bag to rockers or doors (not sure yet), so cant have them stock past the fenders. If any one knows if 9.5 width will work please let me know, thanks for any help anyone can give.

It's all about the offset. Do a search on wheel/tire combo on this site. There's lots of different options shown. Also check out the suspension forum. I think you'll have to mod the inner fenders to get where you want to be.

As said above the offset is gonna be what keeps it in the fender. The overal tire height is gonna determine how much your gonna have to hack it up. Im having a hard time trying to lay out on 29" tires.

Thanks for the Tip, I didnt even think about the offset...... As far as pics like I said I am about to pruchase and still havent, I should have my new toy in about two weeks. I am still looking at a couple, not to many up in Oregon that are decent. As soon as I bring her home I snap some shoots and Post pics.
In the mean time if anyone has done 22s and has any info as far as size, offset, width It will help me a lot. If any one has any pics with any 67-72 subs on 22's please post if possable I am trying to get a real visual. I like the way 20s look when layed out but as soon as you go to drive height they look Ittty Bitty. Well Thanks for everyones Info!!!!!!

Funny!!!!!! I checked yours out in your profile pretty sweet Frizzle.
The one in your pic went up for sale out east a couple yrs ago from back east, I kick my self for not buying it he only wanted 8K if i remember correctly, it had different wheels back then but they were still 20s. The new wheels the new owner placed are 20s still. I would agree It is one of my favorite ones i'v seen clean and simple. FYI when I get mine in a couple of weeks that will make 2 in hillsboro that I will know of also..........

I parked right next to another one a Intel the other day. It was a 69-70 with barn doors Blue/White-top stock height and wheels.

There is a guy on the 67-72 truck board that modified his firewall for the larger dia. tires. The cab is blue and if I remember correctly he went thru hell getting the cab modified.

well Gents....looks like I may have gotten a clue .I e-mailed a e-bay store last night about 22"/9.5 wide with a 20mm offset (5.5" offset) and I was told they will not stick past the fender. He had a lot of info on wheels for old cars when I e-mailed him. It still worries me but at least I have a lead now. I'v been to a couple of local shops and are clueless. I'v got a lead to do some more research. I'll let ya know what I find.

I'd like to get a 71-72, I really dont want to have to convert to disk brakes with an older one. If I do get a later one I will swap to a 67-68 front end.
I am open to a 67-70 if in good shape, I really dont want to deal with a lot of rust. I found 72 in the truck trader I may check out. If I cant find one here in oregon or washington, I may go back to So Cal to pick one up,
A few people from my Truck club down their know of a few, Its just an option I really dont want to drive that far. I am leaving town next week on business for a week. When I get back, I will be on a mission to find my BURB.
