Paint scheme idea!?!
what do y'all think about a 67 GMC LWB painted flat black (primer style) with red accents and red steel wheels w/ baby moons? Too new of a body style for that scheme or cool concept? If you have any pics of 67-72's with this style, I'd like to see them... Thx, J

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
Yeah, sorry, but it's been done many times over. I do like it though. I think there was even a truck (chevy though) in a classic trucks feature with that exact scheme. Project old skewl (a 65 or 66 body style) was done the same way. I think wal-mart was even selling matchbox size "von dutch" trucks with a similar scheme. It's still a cool idea. My truck has been in flat black primer (and it shows) since '96.

texascowboy593...
Definately would look sweet! The flip side is that it is a 'trendy' look now-a-days.

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
We went with green since the red is pretty popular.

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
Something a little different like Powell72`s is cool. These truck are too new for the typical "old school" look. They weren`t even new yet.

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
I always thought if I did one of my lwbs in flat black with a gloss black flames on the fenders and hood would be unique.

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
I agree with special-k, you can't get too carried away with the old school look. Something like wide whites and lake pipes on a flat black truck would be too far over the edge. Flat black with red wheels looks cool but don't look past other colors that would make the same statement. I think flat black with a pale yellow wheel would look really cool.

Re: Paint scheme idea!?!
my 69 swb is gonna be flat black on the out side with a satin red interoir and satin black engine compartment. i got a set of 15x8 mags that came on a parts truck. flat black might be over done but i don't care. i think it looks good and nothing's cheaper than spray paint. got a very tight budget.
