I love your truck! Had one like that when I was 16 but mine was GMC Super Custom. The one that got away. Traded it on my 81 for a whopping $600.

Re: finally got pics to post
I'm sure you had to pay "extra" for it, with those special mirror mounts. But, with the custom-by-crunch door and the mirror mounts.....you can fix both, with another door shell. Lemme guess....it's got a matching mirror mount on the other door, right?
Nice score, though. Mine didn't have anything near the finsh that yours has. It's kinda hard to polish a turd, with the intent of it becoming anything else but a polished turd, so I get to spend more money on mine. My avatar alludes to a P.O.S., but that is just Positively Old School, for me.....and the turd.

Troy!
Looks like you have a solid piece of metal to work with there! I've been working on and off on my 71 for a couple of years and it still looks like a turd, although it sounds so much better in the garage since I cut off those sissy mufflers. Now my girlfriend can see the resonance vibration in my picture window when it's running She looks right at home when I have the Georgia flag flying out front!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: finally got pics to post
I just have to ask... is that a painted 2x4 for the "special mirror mount?" Other than the door and mirrors, looks like you've got a nice bed, cab and fenders. The wheels do look good on it.

Good looking start on your truck. It has alot of promise, especially after those custom mirror brackets become history.

Re: finally got pics to post
Well the other side is probably just as bad.I do have pics., and yes that is a painted 2x4 mirror mount, The other mirror mount isn't quite so primitive, Its great to see all the moral support from you guys, now if I can just get my wife to be as supportive.
