New From Mississippi
Hi,
I Just came across this board a few days ago while searching for gas tank relocation ideas. I am working on a 71 C10. I have shaved pretty much everything from the body except the tank filler. I think I'll go with the under the rear of the bed tank with a side filler and remote filler door. Still have to pull the old motor/trans and finish the firewall then get this thing painted and back on the road. I have had it for about 2 years. Got it for $600.00 running and driving with a 350 and auto trans. I lowered it 4" and have a nice 400 engine ready to go in. It's not my first project. Just sold a 53 Ford and a 48 Plymouth. A few others I have had are a 40 Stude coupe, 56 Belair, a couple 58 and 60 Impalas, 61 Vette, 64 Caddy, 69 442, 71 Vette, 75 Spitfire, 80 Fiat Spyder, and lots of others. Also working on a 51 Merc right now with a 80 Trans Am, and 53 Ford pickup waiting. I hope to get lots of good ideas from this board. Thanks, Jim |

Re: New From Mississippi
Hi there jim. Like Putter said we are pretty tight knit group here. I haven't been to any of the Drive In's yet, but they meet the first Saturday of the month over in Byram. Go ahead and shave the filler and put a blazer tank in under the bed then you can put the filler behind the tail light. I'll send you some pics of mine tonight.
Mike

Re: New From Mississippi
Welcome to the board from Hattiesburg. The Jackson area guys are pretty tight, and us Southerners get up there fairly often. We'll have to have a meet and greet soon.

Re: New From Mississippi
Terry, eh? My truck has been camping out in Byram for about a month now. Greetings from Brookhaven! This is a great place to hang out and get information. There are quite a few of us on the board that are scattered about the state. Of the 8 or so members that I have met in person, all are super and will do anything to help out. Let me know if I can help you with anything.
Dean
