I found a odd truck last week
I went to a guys house to buy a truck, and this guy had a couple big farms. I was looking at the truck i was getting ready to put on my trailer and i noticed another old chevy setting behind his barn. It was a 1980 chevy 1 ton 4x4 with a factory small block 400 with the 4 speed trans anp np 205 t-case. That is only the second truck i had seen with a factory 4 speed and small block 400. I wash i had enough money to buy that truck also.
This is getting out of farming and is starting to sell his equiptment,He bought the truck from the original owner sbout 5 years ago. i just wish i had taken my camera to get som pics. |

Re: I found a odd truck last week
A lot of the farm community dealerships got little deals like the 400 SBC with manual trannies. I can remember when you could order what you wanted in a truck and not just have to take what the manufacturere thinks you want.
Picture a 2 wheel drive stepside, short bed, 1/2 ton truck with 3/4 ton springs and heavy brush rig wheels and tires running a big block 454 motor for a farm truck. It made one hell of a feed truck and daily driver. |

Re: I found a odd truck last week
Those were the good ole days when you could spec a truck like you wanted it. A guy i knew tried to order a blazer back it the early 90's with a 5 speed. GM would not build that truck. He finally ordered the blazer the way he wanted it and changed it over to 5 speed once the warranty was out.
