Question 72 custom camper kick down

I recently purchased a 72 custom camper 400/t400 in perfect shape from the original owner. He says the custom camper did not have a kick down on the transmission to prevent the pickup from shifting up and down on steep hills or mountain passes. Has anyone heard of this?

My 69 350/400 has a kickdown. Is there a bracket for it there?

Check on the transmission to see if there is an electrical terminal, should have 2 spades if I remember right, I could be wrong, but I thought all TH400s had kickdowns.

I have a 72 custom camper (longhorn) with the same setup and mine won't kick down neither. I've checked and found a kickdown switch under dash, and the tranny has a wire going to it. When I pulled the wire from the tranny, fluid started pouring out. I left it alone for now.
