Cut frame

I have a 1978 long wheelbase frame and want to cut it down to fit a 1966 short wheelbase,so I can have the late model rear end with leaf springs and disc brakes.
Can anyone tell me where I need to cut the frame and how much need to be taken out?
Also will it be strong enough to hold up after it is welded back.

Re: Cut frame

you should just swap the entire front cross member from the 78 under your 66and take the leaf hangars off the 78 and hang them on your 66 frame.
