Dana 70
Anyone running a dana 70 in the back of a Blazer? I have one in a dually that I am parting out and was wondering if this was a possible swap into the first generation blazers.
Would it be better just to use a dana 60? |

DANA 70
What did the '70 come out of? I built an 80 1 ton dually 4x4 about 8 or 9 yrs ago. From what I can remember , there are 2 different widths of rearends. The cab & chassis trucks are about 10"narrower than a dually pickup with a box. I think one is aprox44" between backer plates and the pickup is about 54".
If youve got one from a pickup, I think it should be wide enough to clear "inner" fenders, but definite "exterior" mods required! Also , Im not sure spring mount widths are the same? Good luck ! |

The 70 is in an 80 Chevy dually pickup. Looks like I'll have to measure.
Thanks! |
