Trim/Emblem options in 72?
My truck came stock as a 72 custom deluxe highlander. It had the white/orange/white/orange paint job top to bottom, with the upper and lower trim, woodgrain on the bottom. The emblems say "Custom 10" and "Deluxe" on the front fender in front of the door, and it has the "8 350" emblems under the front marker lights. My question is, what other ways could you get a 72 chevy truck stock? I was thinking of painting mine orane with a white roof, and keeping only the thin strip of chrome that went around the back of the cab below the window, and the chrome trim around the front and rear windshield as well. What emblems would a truck like this need to look original? Also, what all emblems/packages were available in 72? Thanks!

Re: Trim/Emblem options in 72?
Thanks a lot! So if I just used the Custom/10 emblems and the 8/350 emblems, then painted the truck orange with a white roof, that would look "right" correct? If I recall correctly, the custom deluxe came with the top trim as standard equipment.

Re: Trim/Emblem options in 72?
From what I recall... I think in 71-72 the chevy line was either a Custom Deluxe or Cheyenne... Cheyenne Super. There wasn't a custom line under the deluxe. Don't know exactly though. To answer your question, yes you could get away with what you are planning, you could even have had a Cheyenne painted that way or a Super as well. Like many will tell you, it's just a package and you could have things deleted as well. Trevor

Re: Trim/Emblem options in 72?
Custom was the base,no trim around the windshield or back window.Wingvents were black.A CustomDeluxe could have the side moulding delete. What you want is the "Standard" 2-tone.What you have now is the "Deluxe" 2-tone.The "Conventional" 2-tone was:accent color top and under belt line. That is less common on the 71/72s.
