steering column advise

I need some advise on the correct lenght of aftermarket steering column to use in my '50 3100. I have installed Heidts MII crossmember and will be useing power steering. I am planning on an LT1 or a SB chevy motor and 700r4 trans. Any info would be great.

Re: steering column advise

I have the same setup! SB Chevy, th-400 and I used the flaming river 32 or 33 inch column with borgeson universals to a mustang II power rack. I had to use a universal and a hanger to clear the shorty headers....good luck!

Oh...I had to cut a new hole in the firewall for the aftermarket column to get it to sit correctly.
