headlight bezels - aluminum or chrome
Some vendors sell the chrome, others polished aluminum. My assumption is that the chrome ones are a bit flashier but won't last while the aluminum are less glossy but will hold up longer.
Anyone have experience with either setup? Looks like the chrome are slightly more costly but not much. In my case I have a chrome bumper and will have chrome "nostrils" on a '67. Last edited by guyryan100; 02-28-2006 at 08:33 PM. |

Are you talking about 67/68 or 69-72. The only chrome ones I've seen are GMC's.

Re: headlight bezels - aluminum or chrome
As far as I know, all 67-72 repro HL bezels are polished/anodized aluminum, just as GM made them originally. GM also made them in painted steel. Some vendors just call them "chrome"...confusing, I know.
Here is pic of a real chrome bezel. It is one of the painted steel ones that has been chrome plated. You have to also get the painted steel grill rings and chrome them so they all match. Nice, but spendy, and not for a daily driver. The Aluminum ones don't rust! |

Re: headlight bezels - aluminum or chrome
Oops. I almost forgot...this new chrome outer grill, with billet inner, comes with matching chrome HL bezels.
You can also buy the chrome outer without the inner, if you want to run the stock inner...not sure if the HL bezels come with it. I will know when I get restocked again in a few days. |

Re: headlight bezels - aluminum or chrome
Any brightwork on Chevys was aluminum in the grille/headlight areas.69/70 headlight doors were steel painted black. On the 67/68s the standard trim was steel painted white.
