amp gauge hook up on our trucks???

can someone help me please.....I am trying to hook up an aftermarket amperes gauge and the directions are pretty much useless......they reference a horn relay and a magnetic starter switch......I am bad with wires, but our trucks don't have either do they? I tried to wire it up using one of the 1" square diagrams the directions came with......and it failed horribly.

I need to stop buying things that have the look that I like.....I seem to have horrible taste when it comes to this stuff......right now I am off to try to rig up something to make the oil gauge the kit came with work.....at this price now, I should have just bought a sunpro setup (you get what you pay for i guess)

i was always told ammeters always tell you after you know there is trouble, they can harm your alternator, use a voltmeter instead.

Re: amp gauge hook up on our trucks???

the amp meter came with the set of gauges I bought, I would like to have a complete cluster. When I upgrade to a new dash cluster, I will install a volt meter, this is just to get my gauges in order before I install my new engine.
