probably parting a 65 soon
probably pasrting out a 65 pickup soon from a guy i know who doesnt want the truck anymore and he knows i had been doing this kind of stuff for a few years so he asked me if i was interested in the truck, just checking here first to see if anyone is looking for anything off such a truck,
bed may possibly be salveagable, doors possible, everything else is scrap i believe, i know fenders are compeltely rusted gone, truck is not restorable unless you hasve new cab and front clip and drivetrain, all wiring, etc, not worth the trouble at all, rear axle is 3.73 most likely, is coil and would fit 64-72 trucks, steering column, very nice horn cap, dash maybe, longbed 2wd frame, etc. just checking to see if anyone is gonna want anything off it first before i decide to let him scrap the truck or me get it. |

Shane, tailgate is possible, forgot if is p/b or p/s truck, probasbly not p/s but maybe p/b, its been months sinc ei saw the truck, is a factory 3 speed manual truck n fact i have the old sm318 out of it up in my attic right now, they took the 292 and 3 speed out and shoved in a 350 and th350 late last year or so.
doubt has chrome parts on cab, will go by there ina few and see what i can find out, if he is over there right now,. was air a factory option or dealer installed unit only before 67 ? it has heater box only under hood, dunno in dash though. whatever would be left if is factory air cab would be whqtever is in dash if any such thing was available before 67 cept for underdash units. thanks |

well cant get a hold of him tonight, he not there tonight, and i cant try again til weekend coming up, truck is not anything worth talking about really, is a rusted out badly junker beater that ran and drove barely and is a base model and thats how any trucks that actually are left are in this region, how its always been. you'd be surprised what ppl here try to put motors into and drive around here, you would freak if you saw, we have no inspectios or testing of any kind here so we can do whatever we wish, safe or not, as long as police dont care. there is some really crappy crap around, ive had alot of them and done retired and finished them off as they should have been years ago.... neve rhave ever had anything older than 67 up in here, only happen to have 65 now because of how the guy stlil had the truck sitting and rotting hidden away somewhere, which is an uncommon thing to have here thaks to zoning and ordinances and lack of any free ground outside of city limits because its all used to grow corn and beans everywhere you can look. stuff would rot to the ground if sat like that in fields anyways, heavy objects sink pretty fast in this ground here if arent moved often enough.

Parts for 1965 Chevrolet truck
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am trying to locate 3 speed column shift linkage for my truck. This truck was originally a 3 on the tree column shift but was converted to a 3 speed floor shift a few years back. The column still has a place for the lever on the inside, and it also has the mechanism for the linkage inside the engine compartment, but the two linkage bars that connect the shift from the transmission are missing. I am DESPERATELY trying to locate these two bars. Please let me know if you, or anyone you know, might have them. Thank you. Best regards, D.M. Rossi Los Angeles, CA |
