2 different Inner Rocker panels

Wasn't sure if this was common knowledge so I thought I would post this.
Ordered new inner rockers to put on my truck and got something different this time. I usually recieve the flat plate that goes in back of the rocker panel(bottom pic) but this time I got a inner panel with the wire channel built in (top pic). Now if you are replacing floors the top one with the channel won't work well as it is hard to match up with new floor channel shape. If I was just replacing rockers and inners this would be great as alot of times if the rocker is bad so is the groove that the wiring sets in. With this top panel it may save having to buy a flor panel like I usually do just to be able to cut off the outside edge to have that channel. Also need to be careful when ordering as these are both called inner rocker panels.Sorry if this is old news to you but it was new to me as I had ordered 4 inners and had to reorder 4 flat inners from someone else.

hmm. interesting. that should keep the water out and keep stuff from collecting in there. i don't even use inner rockers for that reason... and i didn't know how to install them.

Re: 2 different Inner Rocker panels

I always use the one in the upper pic. I have never seen a rocker where teh bottom pic would even work. Normally they are so rusted out you need the extra lip just to getin back in place. I also build my own quite a bit because most of the time a small section of the floor is needed as well so I just bend my own up that includes juast a bit of the floor.

Re: 2 different Inner Rocker panels

I just bought two new ones with the lip and they are tri-plus. I think the flat ones were a cheaper first run?
