Fuel regulators? return line?
Howdy
When you use a fuel regulator do you have to put a return line to the cell for the extra pressure/fuel and you are turning back. or Does it not matter that you build up a little pressure in the line with the regulator?? Any ideas on fuel delivery would be great..

Re: Fuel regulators? return line?
normally a fuel pressure regulator has a return line to put excess fuel in the tank. your pump will put out X amount of fuel, which is usaually more than the regulator will need. it has to put the excess somewhere or else something is gonna bust (or your pump is gonna fry)!

Re: Fuel regulators? return line?
so the stock pump is about 6psi and I have a gauge that is reading 4...
I have a Holley regulator that has the bottom plugged, ..where does that pressure go? Should I unplug it and run a line from the bottom outlet to the tank? The regulator only has an arrow pointing straight through..I didn't realize the bottom is a return line..If that is what it is..as I have no idea what it is..

Re: Fuel regulators? return line?
I believe there is no need for a return up to 7 psi. After that a return is needed.

This would be easier! I could just plug the extra outlet on the fuel cell........Anybody else?

Re: Fuel regulators? return line?
I ran one on a stock fuel pump with no return. Didn't have any problems
