67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

I thought 67 pickups only had the small rear window. The one on ebay claims it is a rare item that his 67 has a big back window. Is it true or has there been a switch of VIN plates.

small window was standard in 67 but you could special order a big window cab.

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

Absolutely true! And according to the VIN it is a '67. I guess you could consider it somewhat rare... but then again you could consider the fact that almost all '67's were small window and 67 was the only year a small window was available rare as well.....

Anywhooooo. sweet truck. I'd love to have it.

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

yep, the cst I traded to 70rs/ss was factory big back window, I didn't take a pix of the glove box. A true 67 with a big back window is rare.....but with everybody switching cabs.......I don't know how to tell the difference between 67 and 68 cabs. I know about the doors and stuff but are there any difference in the cab itself?

Ok, fill me in on this. What are the other differenece in the cabs. I've got a 67 small window that I am looking into swapping a 70 cab onto because I would like the big window. I only knew of the guage bezel, and parking brake differences.

What else is there? Doors...does this mean my 67 fenders won't look right with a later model cab?

thanks

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

I do not think they are all that rare on a 67. My vin on my cab and the vin on my glove box door matches -- with the panoramic option on the sticker is a real good chance of an authentic 67 big window. But if anyone knows how many swb 2wd with big windows were made let me know.

It is option # 4A10AA Panoramic Cab EQ

The ignition bezel is smaller. There's no little "ACC OFF ON START" tag above the ignition switch. The fusepanel is horizontal instead of vertical. I'm sure there are some other things too.

I installed a big window '67 cab on a '69, and it worked just fine. I ended up replacing the dash, but only because the radio hole was totally butchered.

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

They interchange and also the emergency brake is different.
I was wondering about the cab metal itself.......I have a 67 I am restoring and got a perfect 68 cab, except for one rocker that I was going to swap

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

The outer sheet metal is the same. The doors, glass all swap out. If you are going for 100% correct resto, the inner door handles and windows cranks are a little different, and the glove box button is different.

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

Also, I'm not sure what the production numbers for small window vs. large, but here's a pic of a bunch of 67's when they were new and the 2nd is a large window.

Man, I dig that picture. Anyone else have some old dealer lot pics or perhaps when they first brought their truck home new?? Those FULL hup caps are somewhat rare these days and were only for 67-68.
I've seen two versions of the 3/4 ton cap I think.

I'll stir the pot a little. How 'bout a '68 small window. This truck is in a JY in Arkansas. Saw it with my own eyes. Appears original. I didn't fight the snakes to check VIN info though...

If that truck is original (the sidemarkers came on it new) then the truck is most likely a 67. My dad has an all original 67 that was built in late 67 and it has the sidemarkers and big window option.

Re: 67 with a large rear window? Is it true?

The dash sheetmetal is different as mentioned:no recess for ign.or lighter. The ashtray is unique to`67.All had manual choke,I believe. The wing vent latches were carry-overs,along with the door/window handles. The interiors didn`t match paint color. The Panoramic View Window was a carry-over option that was offered since`55 2nd design. That`s what I like about`67s,they were a link to the past. What is fairly rare is to find a low-option truck with the "big" glass or a CST with the small window.
