Is this the right way ...
and right place to put the seal on the spindles? Also when I pack the bearing should I fill the space between the bearings with grease too or just smear the grease on/in the bearings? Thanks in advance.

Do it like truck dude said, if you put it on the spindle, it probably won't go in the hub properly and you'd never know if it did or not.

Re: Is this the right way ...
Yes, put the seal in the rotor before you put the rotor on the spindle.
I have always "packed" the bearings, completely. Place a gob of grease in the palm of your hand and take the bearing in the other hand, turn the bearing with the broad side down and start pushing the bearing into the grease, turning slightly as you go. It will fill the bearing with grease. Or you can go out and buy a fancy bearing packer thingy that is used with your grease gun, safe result but not as much fun. |

Re: Is this the right way ...
i do it how he said that way i know there is no air in the bearing and it is full of greece just make sure you get a high temp wheel bearing geeece suited for disc brakes since they gett hotter then drums and if you use normal greece it will metal and ruin the bearings just my .02

Your seal is backwards. Turn it over.

Re: Is this the right way ...
Ok, Thanks for the bearing tips. I get the point that the way I have the seal on the spindle is not correct but is that it's place?

Re: Is this the right way ...
You grease and install the inner bearing into the rotor. The big bearing...
Then, tap the seal into the rotor with a mallet or light hammer. Gently work it in, so you don't dent it. The seal is meant to be a light press fit into the backside of the rotor. Then, you install the rotor and outer bearing onto the spindle. The seal will take care of itself.

Re: Is this the right way ...
Then I guess it is like this! (sorry about my stupidity ). You know though, when I put it on spindle it just snap in, looks and feels it fits perfect! but I'll go with your experience.

Re: Is this the right way ...
You've got it right there, as long as that bearing is greased. I can't tell from that picture.

Re: Is this the right way ...
Thanks TX and everybody else. No it's not greased yet, I just put them on top of each other to get the right order. How far the seal will go in thought?

Re: Is this the right way ...
The seal will go just flush with the outer rim on the rotor.

Re: Is this the right way ...
I have always filled the hub inner space between the packed bearings because I worry that centrifugal force will throw grease out of the packed bearings if the cavity between the bearings is not also full of grease to near touching the spindle. I probably worry too much.
