68 C10 on Pinks
I do not know the owner, the info is from our county seats newspaper. The owner will participate in an show on May 20 in Gainsville, Florida. The race will air on the Speed channel in late July or August. From the picture in the paper this is a sharp truck, this guy must have a lot of confidence in his truck.

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
Yeah it is bull crap, they give the cars back at the end of the show. I mean I wouldn't race for pinks against anyone but why advertise a show to race for pinks when in fact they do not?

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
That show isnt very good, way too many guys complaining about what the other guy has! and giving car lengths...but, i have seen a 72 chevy cheyene with a canopy do high 11's!!!!!!!! nuthin better than seein a Chevy truck with canopy, beat a mustang down the 1/4 mile.

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
I like the show. I think rather than negotiating advantages I think they should match the vehicles as close as possible the let the test be the drivers ability. I've never seen them give the cars back to the loser but of course I've never been to the live event.

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
I liked it better last season when it was more real guys with real cars. This season it seems to be more sponsored rides just to get advertising. They also focus more on the negotiations than actual racing.

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
The article claims the results are legally binding, the keys and title are first signed over to the producer before the race.

I always liked Hot Rod mag, especially the 12 second 1/4 mi 68 Dodge Dart they built for under 2k. Anyways, off topic.

A good running tricycle could beat most of them.

it sounds like you need to put one of your rides on the show, and then well know if it is real or not.

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
I have to admit I watch it, But way to much red tape they should have more rules prior to showing up matching there machines like weight and cubic inch so there would be less whining -lieing and car lengths..When the cars show up they should have one run with an independent driver and go from there...Hell I have seen more talent on this board in the last week than pinks has produced so far...We should start our own show ''67 TO 72'' STRAIGHT UP OR SHUT UP ...Just for fun......

Re: 68 C10 on Pinks
I've seen a piece of only one episode; the one where the Trans Am took on the Honda Civic. I know the guy that was the crew chief for the Trans Am. He said that the owners had to sign over their titles, and they also signed contracts stating that the winner couldn't simply give the car back to the loser. The T/A won and took home the Honda. They played with it some, dyno'd it, tuned a bit, and then sold the car back to the original owner. I think he's using the cash to replace the transmission he screwed up during that race.
