It takes a National seal #8792s. And KD Tools makes a very handy tool to remove and install it #2393.

Not sure which is cheaper on shipping, but a quick search and these were the cheapest two I found online for you internet buyers.

No,you won't have to remove your pan, just take off your linkage I got my tool from mac it will screw right into the old seal and you will be able to pull the old seal right out.I use a 1/2" socket to drive the new one in so you wont damage the new one.Good luck. tcoop68

A small thin and sharp screwdriver can be tapped through the metal part of the seal and pryed out that way, just be sure not to score either the case or the shaft, or it will still leak.

Re: Anyone replace the shifter seal ina t350 tranny?

I bought the tool, but still wound up dropping the pan and driving it out from the backside. Wasn't that big a deal with the help of some guys on here.

Re: Anyone replace the shifter seal ina t350 tranny?

take a small sheetmetal screw & drive it into the metal part of the seal-stay away from the sides. then pry seal out using screwdriver under the head of the screw-on some stubborn or large seals you may have to screw both sides. brian

Re: Anyone replace the shifter seal ina t350 tranny?

The KD tool is under 20 bucks, and that's both remover and installer in one package. Personally, I wouldn't risk a scratch or gouge on the shaft by using another method to save the 20 bucks. If you do scratch the shaft, it will leak from now on, no matter whether seal is new or not.
