1978 Chevy Sport

I finally found some pics of my Mom's 78 Chevy Sport.

I would gladly pay a finder's fee to anyone who could point me to a source of supply for the graphics. I ended up talking with someone from GM and they said that most of the graphics in the 70's and early 80s were farmed out to other companies, so they cannot even provide me the specs so that I could have them custom made!!!!

Boy, I would imagine it would be impossible to find a source for those graphics that are genuine. If you have enough pics at different angles, I'm sure you could get them replicated... unless, of course, you're looking only for genuine ones. Good luck.

Re: 1978 Chevy Sport

Have you tried contacting someone like Phoenix Graphics? They repop a lot of GM decals from the 70's and 80's, they may have something, or at least an idea of where to look.

Re: 1978 Chevy Sport

I don't need genuine, but I'd like to get the exact specs for them. If I had that, I could either have graphics or paint duplicated....

(Phoenix wasn't any help.......)

Lightbulb Re: 1978 Chevy Sport

I just saw an add the other day when i was watching pwr block.
For the Eastwood Co. and they are now doing all american musle car graphics form the 60's & 70's using the correct color vynals and with hi tech adhesive and uv blockers so ya may want to ck them out.

I wouldn't worry too much about having pics of your truck they can be found on the net.

Theres even a guy on this board with the same truck with the same color sceme sorry i cant remember his user name but he posted some awesome pics of the truck.

Even if you were able to find some NOS graphics i dont think they would be any good except for a templet.

Good luck.

Re: 1978 Chevy Sport

Captkaos,
They may be the route I need to go...

87 Stepper,
If you could come up with that members name or pictures, I would be VERY VERY happy!!!! I can't find ANY pics on the net. It seems Chevy changed the graphics for the Z77 Chevy Sport package every year, so it would be 78 only.

I talked with Chevrolet yeasterday and they are going to send me the restoration packet as soon as I send them the VIN. In looking for that number, I found out that the truck was still registered in my Mom's name!!!!!! My sister is the Executor of her estate and she said she would get me a duplicate title issued and see if she can find the original. (I had thought that she had transferred the title to the boneyard!!)

Thanks for the help!!!!

ElGracho,
I try to check that site every month or two for updates, but there doesn't seem to be much new. It does provide some good info, though!!!
