More Progress pics...

I feel like I'm obsessed with working on this truck and getting it done. All you guys'z pictures of your beautiful trucks inspires me to get off my ass and get this truck rolling. My passenger side front end is still not back together, but with the engine in and a brand new 700R4, flexplate and new ARP bolts staring at me I felt like making some progress. Placed the flexplate on the crank and torque it to 62 ft. lbs. Put the trans on the trans jack and holy sheooot....the truck needs to go up almost 24" in order to roll underneath . Thought about it for a awhile and came up with placing the trans on it's jack in front and the cherry picker stradliing the trans. Hoisted the front end up with the cherry picker and rolled the trans into place for bolting. Tired but satisfied I am.

I hope I'm not boring you guys with my progress pics.

Re: More Progress pics...

Thanks guys! I've just been posting alot of pics lately, since the weathers got warm and I'm inspired on making the wheels of progress move!!! Yes Jim those are 2" drop Ground Force springs from Summit....well there's one there anyway...LOL...other side still needs putting together. ECE 2.5" drop spindels for what should be 4.5" front drop, and ECE 4" spring rear drop. I thought I'd get the tranny bolted up then I could call the local driveline shop to come out and measure for cutting of my driveshaft.
Here is the 700R4 ready for final hoisting...maybe tonight after my real job!

Re: More Progress pics...

Awesome!!! did your trans jack allow such an angle to bolt it up with the front end up in the air like that or did you have to lower the truck back down to do that?

That looks like the same jack I use.

I haven't bolted the trans in yet...but I did lower the truck down. She'll be sitting as level as possible for the raising of the trans jack, even if I have to lift the rear end with a floor jack. Whatever it takes for this old tile setter, LOL!

Re: More Progress pics...

Once you get that trans stabbed tonight you should snap a pic of the whole truck for us to see. I don't think I've seen the whole thing before.

Re: More Progress pics...

Here's the best I can do for taking a full shot of the truck, until it's moving on it's own. Trans went in this afternoon, Mini Starter bolted right up and the first steps to getting the crossmember happened today. The spots on the headers is tile setters "acrylic mortar admix" kinda like Elmers glue watered down....it will burn off, LOL! Don't really know how it got there??? Here's some more pics:
