t-case drop?

Has anybody had to drop there transfer case after you installed a lift? If so where did you get the kit or what did you do? I have installed a four inch lift and 1 inch body lift and I have the shims in for the rear end, but I still have some vibration in the driveline. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Re: t-case drop?

I have seen lots of people use 2" Square tubing (Double wall thickness) It
makes for a solid mount, it's sandable, paintable, & can be Powdercoated.

Re: t-case drop?

I'd look deeper into your existing drive train.

A 4" lift w/shims shouldn't be causing vibration issue's.

Check for drive shaft length, slip joint quality and u-joint health.
Also check for yolk to yolk contact but I doubt that one.

Try to describe it some more for us...is it off idle/starting out vibration or @ speed? Any noise associated with it?

Re: t-case drop?

I agree with this.Dropping the T-case is not necessary w/4" lift.

Re: t-case drop?

Sorry I wasn't more clear. At 60 mph it isn't too bad, but any faster and it gets worse. I was looking at the drive shaft tonight and noticed that I only had 3 nuts on the u-joint clamps and one of the three was loose. I tightened it up and took it for a spin and that seemed to help a lot. I have all new u-joints and my next step is to take the drive shaft in and get it spun to see what kind of balance it is in. The angle of the drive shaft coming out of the t-case looks pretty bad. I guess maybe 60 mph is fast enough. Thanks for the replys
