need help!!
Ok so I need some help! I think I have a problem I cant seem to get my window handles on my doors. I am using 1970 doors and 1972 door panels. I think that it must be an interchange problem. The doors are already painted and I just spent lots of money on deluxe door panels and new arm rests. I think that the splind window shaft is not long enough? I think I need handles with a deeper collar on them. Is there a fix other that rebuilding the doors or replacing the door panels??

I thinkI saw that a couple of the vendors offer rebuild kits which have just the shafts long or short. It seems that the 72 is the only year that requires the longer shafts.
I know that they are available for the door latch but not sure about the regulators. If you check the catalogs you will notice that the 72's have a different part number.

Like bloo said.....the 72 used the plastic thicker door panels, they require 72 window regulators because the shafts are longer.....but you might try the window crank out of a 87 pickup, i think they are a little longer in the splines.

Yeah, your going to need both the door latch control and window regulator for a 1972. If you buy them new, your looking at about $130. Unless your really set on using the 72 panels, is there anyway you can return them in exchange for a set of 70 panels?
